Anne Humphreys

Owner · Riding Instructor

Anne grew up an Army brat and has ridden since she was six. She started out Western, then switched to English when her family moved to Northern Virginia from Korea — and never looked back.

These days she shows on the hunter-jumper circuit, competing in the Jumpers, and is a member of USEF and USHJA. Off the show circuit, she's here at the barn teaching.

Anne holds a bachelor's in Therapeutic Horsemanship from St. Andrews University and a Master of Education in Special Education from Liberty University.

She has a real heart for teaching children and for helping riders grow in confidence at the barn. It's why the place feels the way it does.

Meet the horses

Seven school horses, and they all come to the fence.

Anne picks horses for temperament first. Some are patient with a brand-new six-year-old; others will take a steady rider over a course of small fences. You'll learn every one of them by name.
